Is There a Gnostic Experience?

Gnostic experience is a world wide phenomenon, tale as old as time. How does an individual really differentiate between personal experiences and universal ones? I often use the analogy ofof martial arts, of jujitsu, just cause i practise that. But it's a similar thing in jujitsu. If you look at most of the jujitsu evangelists, they're like white belts or blue belts, those are the first two belts system,. because they've seen the light.
