The Importance of Canadian Culture

There was very much an obvious cultural identity which was kind of Britishness on the frontier. You'll find Canadian British Imperial artifacts and they don't actually look like British Imperial artifacts because they were colonial. They always played it up intensely. So at the same time, anyone in Britain would think, oh, that's a ghost. It's a parody, no one would ever create something like that. They didn't Canada. The maple leaf doesn't even grow in the majority of the country, just like a small section of Ontario and back. And pretty much the culture disappeared.
