I've Been Interested in American Politics for a Long Time
"I've always been interested. Always loved, you know, being drawn to the drama of American politics," he says. "It's weird to understand what it must have felt like... I'm watching this Ken Burns stuff." He grew up in Scotland and his father was a British citizen who went to Britain for work but also to get out to democracy. The earliest one he can remember is probably Edward Heath, who was conservative, Edward Heath, and then became Harold Wilson.
