The Goals for Induction for Patients With Aortic Regurgitation and Mitral Regurgitate
During induction for patients with either aortic regurgitation or mitral regurgitation. Allowing their heart rate to be a little bit higher and spending less time in systole. Avoiding fennile effort because it can decrease the heart rate and increase the afterload. Pre oxygenation oxygenation avoiding hypoxia also anything that's going to cause pain or agitation. If they have some evidence of right heart dysfunction I will start them on either epinephrine nor epinephrine or dopamine.
