There are so many different methods that you can use to study environmental toxicology. You can look at how molecules are interacting with each other. And then all the way up to population level, so environmental epidemiologists look at high rates of a certain health outcome or exposure to something. If they all smelled a weird smell in their town, then that's maybe a clue and you can look into that.
