Harry evans, a hard driving, fiercely directed editor who clashed with the proprietor of my own newspaper, the times. Don you worked with evans briefly? Yes, i think there are similarities. I mean, tom would not resign, which was a point of principle. And what jim bailey told him was that, this is written in tom's voice. One, i wanted my own way too much. Two, i was touchy and resentful of criticism. Three, had no proper regard for financial difficulties.
