The Importance of the Backstrap in a 1911

With a Glock the issue with a Glock and a striker pistol like that where the striker is not fully cocked at rest it's you don't want something that's going to land square. A 1911 more concerned about the pistol dropping flat on the muzzle because the inertial firing pin which is just held in with a spring can carry it forward. The momentum will continue after the pistol hits the ground and will force the trigger downwards and go off so that's not actually an issue in say uh a 1911.
