Zimbabwe - Zimbabwe's Constitutional Commission
Zimbabwe President Maghabi has been in power for 20 years. He is being challenged by a new opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) The MDC's leader Morgan Changurai wants to redraft Zimbabwe's constitution. In response, Maghabi launches a constitutional commission of his own. His proposed reforms are minimal but he does add an amendment on land reform. This will appeal to rural voters and could help him stay in office.
