The Importance of Certificates in Critical Plumbing
Public certificates are used to establish secure connections within a private network. Private certificates are used in a similar way, but they are used with the endpoints and resources within an organization instead of public resources on the internet. The other key difference that as applications and IT infrastructure evolve and grow to span on prem, or cloud service meshes, microservices and multi-cloud applications, these secure connections have to be created automatically for every connection.
