"You can't be effectively decisive if you haven't buttressed it with accountability," he says. "If I'm expanding all this effort trying to explain something and it still isn't getting landing with you, well then why? How much effort is it worth?" He's been talking about the 'explaining effort meter' - a measure of how hard it is for him to convince people his ideas are better than their own.
Rich draws upon 20+ years of experience as a Navy SEAL Officer where he completed more than 13 overseas deployments – 11 of which were to Iraq and Afghanistan. Through his career, he has achieved multiple leadership positions – to include the Commanding Officer of a Navy SEAL Command.
