We're Still Hounded by Artifacts From the Past
The brain creates snapshots of events, particularly under situations of high arousal and fills in the gaps between those snapshots. Neurologists call them lacunae or holes. And yet there's this very strong feeling we have that we carry with us artifacts from the past. So we do. We carry around memories. But our memories are quite poor. They're inaccurate.
