The Effects of Adrenaline on Breathing

The breathing aspect of swimming can often be the most challenging part. The thing that controls our breathing rate and what makes us feel out of breath more to the point is whether we've got carbon dioxide building up in our blood. I talk a lot with my athletes about either bilateral breathing or breathing every fourth stroke. It's great for evening out any stroke flows you might have, it kind of controls how often you can breathe.
