Is Inflation Always in Everywhere a Monetary Phenomenon?
Milton Friedman famously said, inflation is always in everywhere a monetary phenomenon. Since M2 is money printing or shows the money supply, then when M2 is coming down, then CPI has to come down. If you insist that increases in money supply constitute inflation, then you must also insist that we are in a period of deflation right now. That's what I've been saying for fricking years here.
