Is This for Real?

The true history of science is sort of like a big branching tree where lots of those branches were later abandoned or died off. When you're at the tip of the latest branch, you don't necessarily know which direction to go. So that's why people are exploring in lots of different directions and exclaiming excitedly when they figure out something cool. But it also means that you do need to read all these articles with a grain of salt.
