The Hamster's Speech
Lambden forced his eyes open enough to watch as a tiny hamster scurried down the aisle and climbed up the stool. The moose appeared and adjusted the microphone for her. Lambden watched as more and more passengers drifted to sleep, as the hamster continued her meandering speech. For a moment, he allowed himself to imagine the performances the sleep train passengers might be seeing. He felt a small sense of longing for his usual weighted blanket. Tried to... Lambden. Is it Lambden the Lamb?
