Doctoral Application in Augmented Reality for Surgery
In 2013, when I was finishing up my master's, supervisor came out to me one day and she said, you know what, you're doing a really good job at what you're doing with medical visualisation. So I applied for a PhD in implementing augmented reality for surgical training processes. And the first thing that I did was actually building GR applications for oral and maxillopation surgery. We found a significant improvement in self-confidence of surgical trainees when they used VR as a training model compared to their current methods. The research question was, technology is like, we are in augmented reality. Is it just a hype? Or do they actually help you improve your confidence and performance
