The Persian Empire in the Four Hundred Bc
Several more significant persian leaders come and go in the four hundreds b c, including xerxes, artoxerxes. And effectively, it looks like the western greek culture is going to succeed in fending off the influence of the great persian culture in the east. But then as we get into the late four hundreds and into the three hundred b c, though philosophy is flowering amongst the greeks, they still can't get along. There is no greek empire, because they are all just individual city states or leagues of city states,. They fight against each other with a bunch of stupid bles that keep them relatively weak and vulnerable.
