Is It Testing God to Ask for a Sign?

Anonymous asks if it's a sin to ask for a sign from god, angels or saints. Is it tempting god? Also, i was most certainly haunted last year. It took me months or years to see it was supernatural and not natural. I refused to speak to it even though it would make its presence known while i was praying because of the danger that it might be a demon. Miraculously, a priest offered to help me. He seemed to just know. During covid when no one else was making house calls. And he delivered it.
