Allison gopnick is the author of several books about children's development. Her most recent one is the gardener and carpenter model for young people. She says we are looking to young people to do things that are of much higher order skills. Gopnick: I think our whole educational system could be oriented towards both exploration, but also this kind of apprenticeship system more effectively.
