"I can't just go in and say, I'm just going to paint intuitively," he says. "All that leads me to is a big mess where ... I've got no signposts or guide to help me back out of the big mess because I don't know what I'm actually aiming for." He suggests getting inspirational sketches on bits of paper around his studio then stopping thinking about them. 'And just trust that every time I walk in there there and I'm hopeful that that will kickstart things going again'
