The Battle of the Little d'Orn

Tom would later say that long after the battle of the Little D'Orn, he visited with a Lakota woman and got to speak with her. She said that his friend Mitch had been shot in the back close to the river,. He had fallen down and able to move him, getting the bullet, hit his spine, and laid there for the duration of the battle still alive but completely incapacitated. Eventually some Lakota found him still alive, and he talked to them because he could speak Lakota. In the course of the conversation he said okay I'm done, because you know there's, I'm obviously about to die anyway, so please put me out of my misery,
