Quit Social Media Like It Collectively Quits Smoking

In order to get by in the social world in the 1950s or 1960s, you were effectively a smoker because everyone around you was doing it. You have to live your life online in some way; if you have a LinkedIn, you have to be on Twitter or Instagram and somewhere where you're interacting with people professionally or personally. So I think what that suggests is that until we get some kind of change in the social fabric that begins to ostracize the use of these tools, they are not really alternatives.
