How Does Precipitation Work?

Precipitation to me means rain, but in the world of chemistry and geology it's a bit different. So precipitate is very similar to crystallizing out of a fluid so if anybody is ever heated up salt in hot er and then let it cool down, you'll notice that you actually get crystallization of that salt back out of the water. That's what we call precipitation. And if the process of deposition is efficient a lot, and the mineral is precipitated in one place, then you could potentially form a hydrothermal or deposit.
