The Self Is Thrown Into Existence
There's a certain anthropological conception of the self that we get from beralism political liberalism. And there's a more ativistic, romantic view of the self which emphasizes that much of what we take to be chosen is in fact not chosen. Ai-jen Poo: I'm wondering how you think about this idea of the self as choosing,. versus the self is already encumbered, already baggaged and subjectivized by its relationship to the world.
