The Call to Find in the Desert in the Thick of Spiritual Battle

There is an incredible book that I've never read the whole thing. It's called the Hermitage Within and it's written by a monk,  written by a hermit. Here's a particular call to find in the desert in the thick of spiritual battle, the glory of the crucified one. Why do you go there? Because simply because Jesus is everything to the person. And so just today we're talking about how consecrated virgins do this or how consecrated widows do this. But all the roads to follow Jesus are roads to do what? They're all roads to pick up our cross, deny ourselves in the follow after Jesus.
