The Importance of Sensitivity in Clinical Assessment

There are other studies quoting similar findings in you know europe and there's one from the royal london that found a sensitivity of 69 so it's not great reading for anyone really who works in pre-hospital or emergency medical care. We do need to be better than the figures that appear in this paper but with that being said we don't want pelvic binders to become the new hard collars i.e they applied without any thought into whether the patient actually needs one. No ultrasound was available throughout these assessments or other diagnostic adjuncts during the study periodso this is just how well those injuries are picked up and documented on the clinical assessments.
