Lu had warned the three of them that they all had to share this space. Every one's leaves would be cut back so that no one keeled over. Lu kept her car keys in the soil, fished them out at day's end. She called it s benshe hands down the only thing she'd ever bought that gave her pleasure every day. It was an emerald green mercedes, used but dignified. Big improvement on the rattling copper colored van she had when her side job was as a delivery driver.
