Lemonade was such an important resource for me, because at least with that album, visual album, she is really trying to develop a black southern aesthetic. And the sort of politics that you get out of o lemonade, am, some of the racial tixs are firmly rooted in the black south. I find a similar thing going on with the way that people kind of dismiss a biance's intellectm. It was kind of the perfect, am example for me of how do you develop...an appreciation of southern black joy to day? How do you do that? What dis that look like in the public sphere, and how do people respond to it in thepublic sphere?"
