Carol thought, i don't know if i'm going to make it, you know. This dressing down by the superior nun was just one of the first ways carol learned that friendship in the convent would be regulated. Carol quickly got crafty, used hand signals. She wrote notes that she hid in people's prayer books or between gravestones at the convent Cemetery.
