The Cost of Wind and Solar Is Compromised
The more mass production of the technology you have, the lower your production cost. In Denmark, there were very explicit policies to subsidize the development of this technology. Solar has a similar story, but it's much later. It's really only very, very recently that solar has in any way become competitive with other technologies.
