The Prison of Angela

The conditions of this prison weren't like those that you see in a TV show and they aren't to be glamorized or sugar-coated. The jail was filthy. There were mice and bugs, screams and mow of the night and abuse from the guards. Through all this the women within this system developed families. They looked out for each other. Angela would continue to lead the women in organizing and protesting whenever possible. She wanted everyone to be free. On December 21st 1970 on the ground outside, protests continued on Angela's behalf. In the middle of the night she was extradited to California and any appeals on her behalf had been denied.
