In a recent debate, Cartwright accused Bognette of being too cozy with big corporations and price gouging people who are living paycheck to paycheck. The candidate responded by saying that he has worked across the aisle for 10 years as "the most bipartisan Democrat in the Congress" He also said his grandfather wouldn't let his nine children speak Italian at the dinner table because he wanted them to be American.
