Don't Interrupt, Listen to What She's Really Saying

Our pastor of counseling, Brad Hembrick says that the vast majority of communication problems are not expression problems, but listening problems. If you don't know what's being said or you think you might not know what’s being said, just ask questions. And then sometimes as you or I repeat it back, then I can clarify and say, no, no, that's not what I'm saying. So seeking their sanctification, not your vindication.
