Arthur Brown was considered a suspect for both crimes. He died in 2004, legally as an innocent man. In May 2004, convicted child killer Derek Ernest Percy was named as yet another potential suspect in the Beaumont case. Police suspected Percy could have been involved in up to nine unsolved crimes related to missing all murdered children throughout Australia during the 60s. A collection of personal diaries and drawings written and illustrated by Percy detailed disturbing torture fantasies that bore striking similarities to real crimes committed against children prior to his arrest.
