The Importance of Validity in Linguistics

Linguists do actually care if theories over-generate. It's more a concern about what the validity of the theory is rather than like this is going to cause a problem with what you are doing, right? So yeah, things that con-lingers have to be careful of. And so when I approached Geeler too, the question was, how can I do this right while retaining the spirit? You know, still something that has maybe a larger number of cases than one would expect from the average language but not everything is cases.
