I think it's okay to tell someone who's struggling with mental illness that they are disappointing you because you're a person too. I would have really loved it if you were at my birthday celebration or like I love feeling your support for these things and I didn't get that during this time. Just to be like I understand that it's not a malicious thing where it's like I'm not coming because fuck you. It's like I understand the issues but what can we do to make this better for us? And if it is like a social anxiety thing then maybe you do transition to doing things with fewer people and having a separate thing for your friend. So yeah I think talking is good
