Sylvia plath attempted suicide and spent months in a hospital receiving psychiatric care. Ted hughes, meanwhile, had been born in 19 30, a couple of years before sylvia. By 16 he had decided that he would become a poet. For ted, he would write about owls and hawks in the rugged landscape he had loved as a child. He went to cambridge to study and got a job as a rose gardener for a while,. Then worked at the london zoo, hands hard work, animals, poetry. This was his life. And sylvia plath's too.
