The Rise and Fall of Christopher Hitchens

I wouldn't deny that there's an element of what you could reasonably call Islamophobia. But I think the Islamophobia explanation stops making sense the more you look at the details. This is actually a very gradual transformation on his foreign policy views, uh, that was already well under way by not very far into the 1990s. He's the first war where he warms up to the idea that the US military could actually be a force for good in the world and softens his usual anti interventionism.
