The Importance of Lucy's Death
Witnesses reported that a man had been seen talking with Lucy outside her house around an hour before her body was found. Police constantly referred to this suspect for the investigation and they produced a detailed video fit of the suspect. But further appeals brought no further results. A year after her murder, on the day of the anniversary, Lucy's father tried to stimulate further interest by offering a £3,000 reward for information leading to her killer. Unfortunately, once more this lead came to nothing. One of her fellow pupils said that her death became a formative event of his teens.
