El salvaror adopted bit coin as a country in september of last year. They built a dit ofa wallet, which is called chio spanish for goat oran elsalvador - slang for cool. That would allow people to be able to send bit coin back and forth to each other. And then the idea is that go to a store and you actually want to buy something using bitcoin, but you can just essentially scan a c r coat and be able to sending that money right through.
By making bitcoin a national currency, El Salvador tried to transform its economy. Rest of World’s Leo Schwartz explains why the bet hasn’t yet paid off.
