The Importance of Analytical Reading
Inspectal reading is going over the book and not spending a ton of time with it yet, but you're trying to get a feel for the structure of that book. And then analytical is when you get into the actual deep reading of the book itself. Analytical reading is preaminently for the sake of understanding. Francis Bacon has a quote that says, some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested. Reading a book analytically is chewing and digesting it.
