Introduction

Pierre Jean Desmette set sail for America in 1821. He was ordained a priest at St. Louis University and spent much of his life west of the Missouri as a missionary amongst various native tribes. Hailed as a peacemaker, he set out to find and hopefully pacify the Blackfeet tribe it would take him up to modern Alberta, Canada. The Christian History Almanac is brought to you by 1517 at 1517.org.
