Military Deterrence

If the united states had washed its hands of tian five years ago, 50 years ago, the p l a would move against tian. So our position here as a deterrent is absolutely vital. The absolute worst thing that we can be doing right now is to be militarizing the tion issue. We need to be thinking about how do we involve other partners and allies.
