The MP4 4.4, a red and white rocket ship, won 15 of the 16 races in 1988. It was driven by Al Amprost and Airton Centre and designed by American Steve Nichols. I asked him to cast his mind back to his incredible creations first slaps. He remembers that expectations were very high. The test followed the next day and there was some big week from Honda at Imola.
