The Virtue of Humility in the City

In Book 19 of the city of God, Augustine joins the classical philosophical debate about the Suumumbonam. For Aquinas, it is charity rather than justice that is most intrinsically linked to peace. So we might say if you want peace, work for justice, and especially aim to live in love or charity. The Gustin would add, and if you want charity, welcome and cultivate humility.
