A Laboratory in Space, More Than Just a Telescope
The James Webb space telescope has a whole set of instruments for measuring stuff as well as just observing pretty pictures. It can look at pretty much anything in the universe, you can imagine, from stuff in our own solar system through to galaxies near by. And it's the measuring of stuff like the precise wave lengths of light being emitted by distant objects that tells us what they're made of. So this is why i'm saying it's like a laboratory in space, more than just telescope.
