The theological determinist has several options to try to get out of this problem. Firsthe could affirm theological determinism, affirm that something like the ordinary account of prayer is true and just deny that petitioning prayers are ever effective. The other option is sort ofa, not the inverse, but closely related, is to deny theological determinism and deny the ordinary account,.
