The Tom of Leo to the Patriarch of Constantinople
At stake is the true understanding of who Christ is, but also in a sense our salvation. If he's not God with the divine nature, then he can't save us from our sins. And so trying to mediate between these views really is everyone trying to seek to understand who Jesus is.
