i am what is in our circles called an academic rat, which is grew up in an academic family. I think all the incessant arguments about politics, political theory, political philosophy, were sort of in our ears from birth. My grandfather's two greatest attributes are that a religious life has to be utterly free from vanity of any kind. And second, a, that the meaning of life, in some sense, has to come from a purpose that is not instrumental in itself. In genuinely religious people, there is a healthy scepticism about the world,. i don't want to put it into terms of mysticism arn dos and coln dos but i think that for me defines sensibility
