How do women fit into the story of war? I mean, there is the biological argument that men and women are different. And we have enough examples of women who have fought in the past and are fighting in the present. But what I think is it's largely culture. Men have been brought up in many societies to be those who fight. It's an expectation. If you masculinity in so many societies, you can see it even today is tied up with being brave and being ready to go off and fight. They bring up the children and they often in certain societies will incalcate military values in the male children. And they often will encourage the men to go and fight.
